Supporting the Corpus Christi Africa Fund: Empowering Future Scientists

President Stefan is delighted to announce his chosen charity for our fundraising efforts: the Corpus Christi Africa Fund (CCAF).

Our Appeal: Providing equipment for a new Science Lab for Our Lady of Nazareth School.

This year, our fundraising focus will be on a vital project for one of CCAF's long-term beneficiaries: Our Lady of Nazareth School (OLN) in Nairobi, Kenya. OLN is located in one of Nairobi's largest slum areas and provides crucial education to children who would otherwise have limited opportunities.

The school is now expanding to include a secondary education section: a significant step in providing continued learning and brighter futures for its students. To make this expansion truly impactful, OLN needs a well-equipped Computer Laboratory. This new lab will allow students to engage in hands-on learning, fostering a deeper understanding of computer science including the cutting-edge areas of AI and Robotics, and inspiring the next generation of scientists, innovators, and problem-solvers in their community.

Our goal is to raise funds to purchase as many computers as possible for to update the existing equipment in the Computer Lab. By contributing, you will directly impact the quality of education that these students receive, and open doors to future opportunities.

How You Can Help

We will be organising various fundraising activities throughout the year, which will be announced soon. In the meantime, if you would like to make a direct contribution to the Science Lab appeal, you can do so via a donation by bank transfer, participation in our raffles at meetings, etc.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference to the lives and education of the students at OLN School.

Benevolence

The Catenian Association supports members and their dependants who are in difficulty or need. The dedicated Benevolent Fund provides financial aid to help to alleviate hardship. The Fund is examining how it can assist similar charitable causes in appropriate circumstances.
